Benjamin Quabeck, born 1976, is a German writer/director, editor, producer, and a father of three.

Benjamin started his directorial career with his breakout feature debut "Nichts Bereuen", the celebrated live-action feature adaptation of his novel of the same name. The film (also the starring role debut of esteemed German actor Daniel Brühl) won countless nat'l. and int'l. awards and was soon followed by Benjamin's acclaimed, second live-action feature “Verschwende Deine Jugend” (“Play it Loud”), in 2003.

Benjamin has since plunged into a long career writing and directing, editing and producing movies and documentaries for both television and theatre, as well as countless commercials, music videos, and -in a parallel body of work- an extensive oeuvre of celebrated radio plays.

Amongst others, Benjamin co-produced Hans Steinbichler’s “Winterreise”, directed episodes of the German TV-Series “Unschuldig”, wrote and directed segments on the episodic cult film “99 Euro Films”, wrote and edited the hit documentaries “Keep Surfing”, “Dragon Girl” and “Into the Unknown - The Night in Lisbon”, and has recently expanded the universe of the German hit show "Babylon Berlin" into multiple seasons of the record breaking Radio play of the same name.

Simultaneously, Benjamin has long held a place in German animation. After writing, directing and animating the award-winning animated shorts “Höhlenangst” (“Cave-o-phobia”) and “Wind” during his studies at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, studios like renowned Ludwigsburg-based Studio Soi have relied on Benjamin's talents as a writer, editor and director of voice performances.

Before combining his longform-skills and his love for animation on "Richard the Stork 2", Benjamin led both story-editing and the directorial Dept. on both parts of the MLP's Oscar-nominated, BAFTA- and Emmy-winning, animated Roald Dahl adaptation "Revolting Rhymes".

Benjamin and his family live in Berlin.
